Scholarships and Internships

A number of internship opportunities are available at the EAA AirVenture Museum:

Wittman Aviation Studies Internship
The primary role for the Wittman Aviation Studies Intern will be to work with the collections department of the EAA AirVenture Museum. The work will be in support of the museum’s artifact management program and is suitable for a person with curatorial work. Duties may include cataloging, moving, and researching artifacts in the museum collection. Stipend of approximately $2500. Travel and lodging are the responsibility of the intern. Funded by an endowment from the late Steve and Paula Wittman. Email the

Timken Aviation Studies Internships
These two internships provide for college level interns to study the role of women in the past, present and future of aviation. The internships are attached to the EAA AirVenture Museum. Projects will vary, but in the past have included historical research and presentation, oral history projects, and projects leading to exhibit content in the museum. Ideally, interns should aspire to be future professionals in the aviation industry. Stipend of approximately $3000 per internship. Travel and lodging are the responsibility of the intern. Funded by the Louise H. Timken "Young Women in Aviation" endowment. Email the

Florence “Coffy” Gregory Internships
Six internships in honor of Florence Gregory, one of Illinois’ first licensed women pilots are offered by EAA. The ‘Coffy’ Gregory Intern goal is to advance the future role of women in aviation. Interns will experience one-on-one mentorship; a meaningful experience in their area of interest within the EAA organization; experience EAA AirVenture Oshkosh – the worlds largest aviation event; and conclude with a flight experience during the EAA First Flight Academy. Interns serve a 6 Week Internship and attend the First Flight Academy at no additional cost. Interns must be 18 years of age and older. They receive a $1000 stipend and there is an option for undergraduate/graduate credits. Lodging and meals are included with the experience. For more information contact
