Operation Aviation
Los Angeles is in ruins. A magnitude 9.0 earthquake has shaken the city to its knees and millions of people are in desperate need of help. Fires and oil spills have blockaded the ports, and huge landslides have buried the highways. The only hope for the quake-ravaged city is your group and their seven small cargo airplanes.

In Operation Aviation, the EAA AirVenture Museum’s dynamic simulation experience, up to 21 people can spend three hours as members of a disaster-relief agency tasked with delivering supplies to the victims of this catastrophic mock earthquake. Working in three-person teams, the group will become pilots, navigators, flight engineers, and operations planners. Equipped with cutting-edge flight simulation technology and innovative learning materials, the flight crews will plan and fly their rescue missions.
The Operation Aviation crews must work fast. Lives are at stake in this high-pressure simulation experience. From the group’s first moments in the Operation Aviation Emergency Operations Center to the last landing in the dynamic full-size digital cockpits, the action is intense. This is interactive learning at full throttle.
Operation Aviation is designed to meet the academic needs of students in grades 6 through 12, as well as adults in special teambuilding missions. Every minute of the Operation Aviation experience was created with a set of clear goals: foster “on your feet” thinking, encourage team-based problem-solving, enhance traditional academic subject matter with real-world applications, and generate enthusiastic exploration of aviation at its best.
